Abstract

This article discusses the protection of children's human rights in the context of armed conflict, which is a crucial issue in international humanitarian law and human rights law. Armed conflict has a major impact on children, causing rights violations, physical and psychological trauma, and vulnerability to exploitation. This article reviews the relevant international legal framework, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions, the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child, and additional protocols governing the protection of children in conflict situations. In addition, this article also highlights the role of international institutions such as UNICEF in providing humanitarian assistance and protection to children affected by armed conflict. This study uses a normative juridical method by focusing on applicable written law, analyzing the protection of children in war zones based on national and international legal provisions through a victimology perspective.
